About Us
Most people have always equated the word "safari" with Africa. Safaris are a trip to go view wildlife in its natural habitat in a country in Africa, right? Well, not really. Safari simply means "journey". So any trip that you've been on was technically a "safari".
Safari njema (pronounced n-jay-mah) means "good journey" in Swahili.
Safari Njema Travels, LLC (SNT) was formed in January 2025, exactly one year after two travelholic friends went on a trip to Uganda and Kenya.
Our trip to the Maasai Mara was the first wildlife safari for both of us, and we were so mesmerized by the beautiful savannah wilderness and rolling plains, as well as the amazing wildlife within the park. We visited both the Mara and Lake Nakuru National Park, and enjoyed the game drives in both parks, though they were very different.
Before and after our safari, we spent time in and around the capital city of Nairobi. As we toured the beautiful country of Kenya, we both agreed that we needed to "bring people over here to see this"! And SNT was born!
While our first small group escorted trips in 2026 will be focused on Africa, we will be expanding our small group trips to other continents including Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America.
We are so excited to share the world with our travel buddies, new and old, and exploring and discovering new and different customs, people, and foods!
What we do
Escorted tours are a form of tourism in which travelers are escorted in a group to various destinations. Safari Njema Travels focuses on group sizes of between 10-12 travelers with a pre-planned itinerary which includes some free time and suggestions for exploring the destination on your own.
Our trip prices are for "land only" costs, based on double occupancy. However, based on availability, we may offer solo, triple, and quad occupancy for a surcharge. Land only means that traveler flights are not included in the price. Travelers are responsible for booking their round-trip airfare from their desired departure airport.
We recommend that all travelers thoroughly review their health insurance coverage benefits to determine whether they have coverage when traveling outside of the USA.
We also strongly recommend that you purchase a travel insurance policy that may cover you for trip cancellation and/or trip interruption insurance.
